AGAPE operates with cantonal authorizations and municipal mandates. The intervention is part of the Ordinance on the Reception of Minors for the Purpose of Adoption (OAMin 2012), the Law on Support for Family Activities and the Protection of Minors (Lfam. 2003), and the intervention is part of the Harmos agreement taken from the School Law.

AGAPE ensures protocolled intervention processes.

The staff operates in full compliance with the Charter of Children's Rights, consistently without prejudice to family affiliations, and with full respect for the individual. AGAPE ensures data protection; any needs are agreed upon with the families.

Families are entitled to lodge a complaint, with the competent court being Lugano.
